Unique Safety And Special Features

Wood Pro's premier Circle-Of-Safety provides an intake hopper designed to keep the operator at more than arm's length from the cutting mechanism; at any point of the intake perimeter, the cutting knives are a minimum of 3 1/2 feet away.

Split rotor housing with safety interlock switch: The rotor housing is split in half to give ample and instant access to the blades for either inspection of replacement. A safety interlock switch prevents starting the engine when housing is open.

Dynamically Balanced Disc With Machined Blade Surfaces: Wood Pro chippers feature precision machined discs are Dynamically Balanced at high RPM's to help reduce vibration at operating speeds. Each disc has the blade surfaces precision machined in the same plane to insure uniform cutting tolerance against the bed knife.

Compact towing size and sealed intake hopper: Both the feed tray and the discharge chute fold to reduce travel bulk. The feed tray folds over to completely cover the hopper and can be padlocked to prevent unauthorized use of the chipper. Note that the feed tray chains are plastic-covered to prevent banging when under tow and they loop through locking splits to prevent the tray from bouncing open.

Fast, Self-Feed Processing: Wood Pro Chippers are designed to self-feed at a very fast rate. Branches and solid brush are pitched into the hopper. The rotor grabs the material and wisks it through in just seconds.

Limb Capacity: Chipping capacity depends on disc diameter, rotating mass, and on engine horsepower. The tow behind trailer mounted models are currently available with 20 inch chipper disks. The 20D series with a 20" disc chips limbs up through 4 inches in diameter.

Quick Attach PTO 3 PT Hitch Category I or II With Shear Bolt: The PTO shaft has a safety shear-bolt yoke to guard against overloading.

PTO Models Offer Superior Performance: When compared to engine models of the same disc size, PTO units offer superior performance with tractors of higher PTO HP than equivalent engine models. The extra HP allows processing of bigger diameter brush without a slowdown in rpm's. PTO models can be operated on-the-go when legs are retracted or on-the-ground where each leg individually adjusts to uneven terrain.

Part No. 240204061: Replacement chipper knive 7 inches long with 3 bolt holes, fits all Wood Pro models requiring 7 inch long blades, (including the 24DP3 produced after 1990. Note: the current model with 24 inch flywheel 24D4P3 uses 5 inch blades, see the chart above) - Price is $63.85 each plus $13.00 UPS shipping per order

The above number replaces supercedes part number 179000 which is on some old parts lists, they are both the same 7 inch long blade.

Part No. 189001: 5 inch long replacement blade with 2 bolt holes, replacement Chipper blade For Wood Pro Chippers 20D series and 25QI series, and any other Woodpro machines requiring blades 5 inches long - Price is $58.85 each plus $13.00 UPS shipping per order

Part No. 179002: This is an old part number superceded by part number 189001, both are 5 inch blades with 2 bolt holes, order 189001 as the current replacement.

The best way on blades is to simply look under the cover and see how many blades you have: it will either have 5 inch long blades with two bolt holes (part 189001), or 7 inch blade with 3 holes (part 240204061); usually Wood Pro machines with 5 inch blades have 4 blades, and machines with 7 inch blades have 2 blades, but check, some early models before 1990 may be different. Also note: old, damaged blades, you don't know the length, 5 inch blades have 2 bolt holes, 7 inch blades have 3 bolt holes.
