Coats Model 5000 Truck Tire Changer

The Coats Model 5000 Truck Tire Changer is a quality, low-cost heavy-duty Amercian Made tire changer that can accommodate tube-type or tubless tires with rim diameters from 15 inches to 38 inches. The HIT-5000 models are also designed to handle large truck tires with heavy sidewalls including run flats of this type. The standard 5000 series models can accomodate run flat tires with heavy side walls and no inner liners, as well as tires with the two piece bolt together inner liners. There is also a special model for the Hutchinson run flat tires that have the one piece press on inner liner. The model 5000 features smooth electro-hydraulic power for fault-free performance; an easy to use swing-arm houses all the hydraulic controls, with a dedicated lever for each powered function. A preset pressure bypass valve prevents any hydraulic system overload that could result in damage. The model 5000 is can be ordered to accommodate 220 volt single phase, 220 volt three phase, or 110 volt single phase power.

  • Heavy tapered roller bearings support the chuck


  • A hydraulic motor rotates chuck in either direction via chain and sprocket drive gear


  • Drive system gives you smooth torque for removing all tykpes of tires


  • A roller-type spreader is standard equipment


  • Tool carriage, which incorporates three sockets for the bead-loosening disc and the tire mounting/demounting assembly


  • Tool carriage is conveniently located below the wheel and tire to accommodate different widths


  • Electrical Requirements: 220 volt single phase is 2 hp/20 amp; 220 volt three phase is 2 hp/ 10 amp; 110 volt single phase is 2 hp/30 amps


  • No air is needed


  • Min/Max Wheel Diameter: 15 inches to 38 inches


  • Maximum tire diameter is 76 inches


  • Maximum wheel width is 34 inches


  • Works on tube type or tubless tires


  • Works on heavy side wall tubless run-flat tires with bolt together inner liners, or without inner liners, (for one piece Hutchinson inner liners that require pressing on, see the HIT 5000-H2 listed at the bottom of the page)
