Hy-Reach Heavy Duty Tree Clipper

The HY-Reach Heavy Duty Tree Clipper is a unique tree cutter that mounts on a boom that extends in front of the tractor or skid steer, so that you can use it to cut off trees at ground level or to reach up and cut off limbs. The unit can be purchased with a rotating mount for cutting and pruning, or with a non-rotating mount, which would be used for just cutting trees. It is also available for rear mounting on a tractor's three point hitch, which is used only to cut off trees at ground level (three point mount doesn't have extended boom for cutting high). The HY-Reach cuts all hardwoods up through 11 inches in diameter maximum, and leaves a clean cut at ground level.

A tree cutter is the fast and easy way to remove trees that have overrun pastures and fields and fencerows. Remove your trees without disturbing the ground and without using chainsaws. This is also the perfect tool for re-opening, and for cutting new trails, paths, and roadways. Two series are available, the standard series which will work fine for most applications, and the contractor series designed an even stronger frame for use by contractors, tree servies, and cities for day after day use; these units come ready to use, already plumbed with flow dividers (so you can use them on all loaders and skid steers with only one auxilliary hydraulic valve).

Hydraulic powered tree clipper mounts on tractor loaders, or skid steer loaders, or on the rear of tractor's three point hitches

Available with a extended reach boom with rotating head so you can also use the unit to trim limbs

Cuts all hardwood up through a maximum 11inches in diameter. The unit will clip at ground level or below; when cutting trees on the ground - there is a 2 inch sled on the bottom of the clipper which is used for blade support, when cutting at ground level tilt the cutter slightly forward and drop it to the ground in front of the tree, slide the clipper under the tree, this allows the weight of the clipper to sink the 2 inch sleds into the ground and allows you to cut at a lower level

Can be mounted on most loaders, tractors and skid steers, minimum hydraulic pressure required is 2000 psi

Front mount with long boom configuration keeps tires away from thorns

Made for heavy use, it is used by farmers and ranchers, the forestry service, highway maintenance crews, cities, utility companies, landscape maintenance companies, golf courses, parks and recreation departments, tree farms, and aborists

Heavy duty construction includes hardened pivot bushings, tempered steel blades, heavy duty 5 inch x 8 inch cylinder, and self-centering blades

Clipper can be mounted on equipment other than skid steer and tractor loaders including - back hoes, excavators, telehandlers, and bucket trucks are a few applications

The Hy-Reach version of the clipper will cut 6 ft. beyond the end of your equipment

How fast can you cut - there are many variables that affect this, but as a rule you can easily cycle six blade opening and closings in a minute

NEVER SHARPEN THE BLADES - This isn't needed, the blades come with approximately 1/8 inch edge, the force from the cylinder forces the blade through the tree, so the blade doesn't need to be sharp, sharpening the blade will only thin the steel and increase the possibility of chipping the blade

The blades are made of T1 steel, so dirt and rocks do not generally harm the blades

The cutting cylinder is custom made and is a 3000 lb. 5 inch x 8 inch cylinder with a 2 inch rod and 1 1/4 inch pins, at 2000 psi the cylinder produces appoximately 20 tons of push

Minimal maintenance is required, just make sure all nuts and bolts are properly tightened before each use

Heavy Duty Contractor Model On Skid Steer Loader

Model HD6651: Skid Steer Loader Mount Contractor Model with power tilt and heavier built clipper head mounting boom, designed for users that will be using the unit for extended periods of time, this unit comes with the standard quick attach mounting plate to fit all skid steer loaders with standard quick attach mounting, this unit also has power tilt so it has a power tilt cylinder as well as a cutting head cylinder. Because it is designed for skid steer loaders that normally have only one auxillary hydraulic outlet (the ability to plug in only 2 hydraulic hoses), this model is ready to attach without any modification, it is fully plumbed and ready to us.

Skid Steer Mount Power Tilt Contractor model, has extended 2 year warranty, is fully plumbed, assembled, and ready to use, ready to operate from one auxilliary hydraulic valve (plug in two hoses).

The contractor model includes these components - K77990 deluxe hook-up for skid steers with electric solenoid valve to switch between the two circuits (hydraulic cylinders), and the hoses fittings wiring - as we said before this is already assembled and plumbed, also includes MP220 flat face quick coupler "A" series size 10 - European style

Front Loader Mount Models - Loader Arm Mount And Bucket Mount

Note: We show the clipper mounted to the side in the photo below. This is popular with customers ordering the loader mounted model, so they can more easily clip along a row of trees such as in an orchard or along a building or other obstacle, or more easily be able to see what they are doing by mounting it on either side. You specify to have your clipper made with the shaft and clipper head either mounted on the left, right, or middle.

Model 664499: Front Loader Mount Model with power tilt, designed to mount on the front loader arms of most tractor loaders. THE MOUNTING PLATE INCLUDED DOES NOT HAVE ANY MOUNTING BRACKETS ATTACHED TO THE MOUNTING FRAME. YOU WILL HAVE ORDER THE CORRECT OPTIONAL BRACKETS LISTED AND EITHER BOLT OR WELD THEM ONTO THE FRAME YOURSELF.

The mounting brackets are specified to fit the specified tractor loader arms, and they will generally fit the tree clippers mounting frame, but you will either have to bolt or weld these brackets to the tree clipper's mounting frame, but we won't guarantee that no fabrication will be required to make them fit on the frame.

Model 664499 is a power tilt model with two 2-way hydraulic cylinders with 4 hoses to plug into your tractor requiring 2 auxilliary hydraulic valves to be able to use the clipper. If you do not have two auxilliary valves, then you must purchase the following items then you must purchase either a mechanical or electric diverter valve (or the complete kits), so the 4 hoses go into the valve, and two hoses come out so you can connect them to your tractor's hydraulics. The electric solenoid diverter valve is the most popular; if you want that valve you also need part #VG-100 valve guard so you can mount this valve on the tree cutter frame (VG-100 valve guard is included with the complete kit listed below).

If you do not want the electric diverter valve, then you can order the mechanical diverter valve part # MP-215 . This valve will have to be mounted within your reach on the tractor seat and will require more hydraulic hose to be run which you will have to furnish. You will have to fabricate your own mounting bracket to mount the MP-215 valve to your tractor, and provide your own hoses and fittings, or you can order the complete kit part # K66990 which includes fittings and hoses and the valve. This kit should be all you need, however we do not guarantee that you won't have make some minor modifications.
