Mandrel Bending Machine

The Model MB-350 Mandrel Bending Machine is the tool you need for making ultra tight bends on thin wall tubing for projects such as performance and custom exhaust pipe work, hand railings, furniture, and similar applications. To make tight bends in thin wall tubing the wall's of the tubing need support to prevent the tubing from collapsing. To do this, this bender uses mandrel bending tooling that must be custom ordered to fit the size of tubing you are bending. The bender includes a positioning table and a hydraulic mandrel insertion and extraction system.

• Electric/hydraulic powered using a 5 hp 220 volt 3 phase servo motor and 5 hp hydraulic motor for power and extreme accuracy, foot pedal control of bend and return process,
• Designed for making ultra tight bends on thin wall tubing, 1 to 3 inch outside diameter (stainless steel) tubing down to 0.065 wall thickness, for bending projects such as making custom performance exhaust systems, hand railings, metal furniture, tubing for autos and bike chasis, auto aftermarket accessories and more. Designed for small to medium production runs and features a simple design, heavy construction and easy to use operator controls for quick change overs and quality bends.
• Bends tight radi down to 1 1/2 times the OD of the tubing
• Model MB-350 uses true mandrel bending tooling which must be custom ordered for your specific tubing size. Making tight bends on thin wall tubing will leed to tubing collapse unless some type of support is inserted in the tubing.
• The unit includes an adjustable positioning table, allowing the user to perform multiple bend parts even in varying planes, accurately and repeatable. Has rotary tubing positioning carrier with 4 manual stops.
• The unit is controlled by and LCD screen controller that can save up to 140 bending jobs, with each job being able to contain 10 different bends
• Model MB-350 Mandrel Bender includes a hydraulic mandrel insertion and extraction system with manually adjusted 10 ft. long extraction table.
• Total machine dimensions are 162 inches long width 66 inches, height 48 inches, wt. is 2000 lbs.
• Tooling is additional per your bending requirements. Tooling changes for different materials, wall thickness, and center line radius. A set of tooling consists of a rotary bending die, clamp die, pressure die, mandrel, and wiper die.
• Maximum bending strength capacity: Round Mild Steel - 3 inch OD x .125 wall; Round Aluminum - 3 inch OD x .188 wall; Round Stainless - 3 inch OD x .065 wall; Square Mild Steel - 2 inch x 2 inch x .188 wall; Solid Bar Mild Steel - 1.181 inch OD
• Right handed mandrel pipe bender
• Single stack tooling
• Bend axis is driven by electrical mechanical drive system, linear feed and plane of bend rotation are by rotary degree positioning carriage with linear scale and 4 manual linear stops
• User friendly touch screen interface allows for storage of programs, speed of bend changes, amp meter readings, counter for number of bends, and spring back values.
• Clamp die has hydraulic and mechanical locking system that reduces the possibility of slippage
• Mandrel extractor uses powerful hydraulic system to insert, hold, and extract the mandrel, also included is an adjustable mandrel positioning device
• Follower die is positioned and held tight against rotary die and wiper die
• Foot pedal control works in conjunction with touch screen instructions. On screen safeties ensure improper operations can't be completed
• Maximum bend radius is 12 inch center line radius, maximum angle is 190 degrees
• Maximum length over mandrel is 10 inches, bending speed (DOB - Degree OF Bend) is 18 degrees per second, accuracy of DOB is +/- 0.50 degrees
• This exhaust bender's tube bending capacity may vary depending on OD (outside diameter), WT (wall thickness), CLR (centerline radius), material (aluminum, mild steel, chromoly, etc.)and supply of material. The buyer must provide 10 pieces of test bending material for each different die and mandrel size specified.
• The machine will be tested with tooling and material before shipment.
