The Stump Buster Tractor Mounted Stump Grinder is now available in two sizes - the model SHSC-25 Mini-Stumpbuster for tractors from 15-35 hp, and the model SHSC-50 Stumpbuster for tractors from 35-100 hp. The Mini-Stumpbuster mounts on your tractor's category 1 three point hitch, and the Stumpbuster mounts on your tractor's category 1 or 2 three point hitch (pins are reversible, tractors from 15 to 45 hp are usually category 1, and tractors above 45 hp up through around 100 hp are usually category 2). The tractor's 540 rpm pto powers the cutting wheel, and the tractor's hydraulic system powers the lift and swing cylinders used to manipulate the cutter up and down and side to side; all from the safety and comfort of your tractor seat.
Please Note: You must already have control valves mounted on your tractor so you can operate the hydraulic cylinders. The Stump Buster does not come with these. You can reduce up to 24 inch tall stumps to mulch in minutes (depending upon the size of the tractor, and which Stumpbuster model you are using). Grind stumps all the way down to 12 inches below the ground's surface on the Stumpbuster model, and up to 10 inches below the surface on the Mini-Stumpbuster model. Stump Buster's 55 degree swing arc allows it to handle stump diameters up to 45 inches in one pass (on both models). You can grind larger stumps by repositioning the unit to take another pass.
The powerful and durable pto-driven SHSC-25 is built to take on even the toughest stumps
Powered by a 15-35 hp tractor with 540 rpm pto
Mounts on category 1 three point hitches
The unit's 24 inch diameter carbide toothed cutting wheel can cut away 24 inch tall stumps in a matter of minutes
The cutting wheel's 980 rpm rotation speed delivers high hub torque - enough to grind a 45 inch diameter stump into a hole 10 inches deep in minutes, repositioning the unit for another pass can also eliminate larger stumps
The Stumpbuster's unique single-directional cutting design creates a more aggressive cutting pattern, quickly chewing through the stump. This design also improves bearing and gearbox life

Model SHSC-25: Mini-Stumpbuster stump grinder for 15 to 35 hp tractors, comes with lift and swing cylinders & hoses (less 2 quick couplers), unit weighs 832 lbs., shipping weight is 1092 lbs., shipped by truck - Price is $6625.00 delivered (price includes shipping to commercial and residential addresses with normal delivery access in the U.S. 48 states, Alaska, Hawaii, and other locations require addtional shipping cost), ships by truck
34 inch diameter cutting wheel grinds stumps, spins at up to 895 rpm, and delivers 450 ft. lbs. of hub torque
Two hydraulic cylinders move the unit up and down and side to side, cylinders are powered by tractor's hydraulic system, comes with hoses less quick couplers
Unit swings side to side in a 55 degree arc, allowing you to remove a stump up to 45 inches in diameter in one pass, 12 inches below ground, before having to move the tractor
You can grind larger stumps by repositioning the unit to take another pass
Cutting teeth are durable carbide steel teeth, 25 cutting teeth mounted on cutting wheel, very durable, long lasting even under commercial use
The Stump Buster cuts in one direction, right to left (as viewed from the tractor seat). Twenty-one of 25 cutter teeth are positioned on the left side of the cutter wheel. Two cutter teeth are on the right, and two are straight. This creates a more aggressive cutting action as they chew into the stump. More teeth are used for each cutting pass, creating faster reduction with less wear. The teeth do all the work, not the wheel; in addition, the cutting force is always being pushed, instead of pushed and pulled - this extends bearing and gear box life.
Teeth life: Teeth life varies depending upon use, hardwood stumps give the longest teeth life: a good estimate is 200-500 hardwood stumps on a set of teeth if you go mostly ground level. Going below ground will reduce life, and this is not counting hitting any rocks which will dull or break teeth. Broken teeth can be replaced one at a time, and not all teeth wear at the same rate. Thirteen of the 25 teeth do most of the cutting, and if these get dull, you can rotate these teeth into the other positions which are used more for clearing the material, and rotate the teeth in the clearing positions to use for cuttng, extending the life of the complete set.
Grinding speed depends upon the tractor horsepower, the material being cut, and the diameter of the stump. Hardwood stumps cut the easiest and fastest, and Pinewood stumps are the hardest and slowest to cut. Cutting times vary, but the model 50 on average, grinds a hardwood stump 10 inches deep in less than 2 minutes; using a tractor 50 hp or larger the model 50 will take a 5 inch deep cut on a 10 inch diameter stump in one pass (or a 2.5 inch deep cut on a 20 inch diameter stump in one pass for example, etc.). Trying to take too big a cut and not allowing the carbide teeth to cut efficiently can reduce teeth life and increase cutting time.
One person controls two hydraulic cylinders from the safety of the tractor cab to raise, lower, and move the cutting wheel from side to side
