QC And TX Series Towable Generators - High Quality, Made in Canada.

The QC And TX Series Portable, Towable Generators can be used as back-up power generators for your farm, shop, or farmstead, or for industrial and farm use for locations where power isn't available. Many different capacities are available; both series have control panels equiped with 20 amp capacity duplex receptacle (for plugging in 4 standard 110v cords), and one 50 amp welder receptacle. All units also have a voltage meter visible from the tractor seat. The units come mounted on their own trailer, but can be removed and mounted permanently on their mounting plate. These units are designed and built tough enough for 24 hour a day / 7 days a week usage.

Please review the Principles Chart on this page. This chart gives you the voltage of the generator; make sure you know the voltage your motors are wired for, as industrial motors can be 208 or 240 depending upon your area, most residential areas are 120/240 volts. There are some high voltage industrial motors wired for 277/480 and some 347/600; again make sure you know how they are currently wired so you can choose the correct model.

TX Series Portable Generators

  • Please Note: Minimum required horsepower ratings shown for any generator is the MINIMUM PTO HP REQUIRED WHEN THE GENERATOR IS AT MAXIMUM LOAD/CAPACITY. If your tractor has less pto hp than the minimum required, then you won't be able to use the generator at full load. We do have both the QC and TX series however with the differences between the two explained below. The smallest TX series however only requires 11 pto hp minimum.

  • Two different series of pto generators are available - The QC Series listed directly below and the TX Series at the bottom of the page. The QC series generators have one of the most precise automatic voltage requlators in the industry at + or - 1 percent. Use the QC generators at your business if you need to run electronic equipment which cannot handle high voltage flucuations.

  • We also have the TX series generators listed at the bottom of the page. These units are less expensive because of standard type voltage regulator used; while not recommended for the application explained above, these lower cost generators are perfect for operation welders and other tools and equipment that are not as sensitive to voltage flucuations. The TX series are comparable in that respect to other generators on the market.

  • Additional Generator Application Information:

  • These pto generators are designed to give you the peak output levels listed when your pto is rotating at 540 rpm. If your tractor has a tachometer FOR THE PTO SHAFT then set your tractor at the throttle setting you want to run it at and measure the pto speed. You need to use enough throttle to keep the pto at 540 rpm so the generator will keep the voltage at 110 or 220 so you can operate the motor the generator is powering. If your tractor meets the minimum horsepower requirement or more, that we recommend for each generator, and you keep your pto speed at 540 rpm, you will get the performance and wattage output as shown. Farm tractors are normally designed to be operated at full throttle under load, but if not sure, check in your owners manual.

  • If you have an application where the start-up load on the motor is more than approximately 2.5 times the constant wattage then you definately need to be at the minimum recommended horsepower or higher, and as explained below, you may want to consider using the QC series generator

  • There are two series of the generators the TX and QC. The TX series are great for use for running irrigation equipment and farm equipment including welders or general emergency power for your shop or home. The TX series has a regulator to keep you within + or - 6 percent of minimum required voltage. Using this regulator makes the units less expensive and are great for industrial use in most applications.

  • The QC series uses a regulator to keep you within + or - 1 percent of minimum required voltage. The QC units are more expensive, but are required when using this for a backup power source at an office when you will connect computers and other sensitive electronic equipment. You may also want the QC series if the start-up load on the motor is over 2.5 times the constant wattage required, as the QC generators with this regulator are more efficient.
